In Memory of Jim Malone

Jim Malone was laid to rest this week, after spending some time in Park House Nursing home. We remember the role he played here in the parish as Sacristan of the Church in Clane. His own business directly opposite the church meant he was a feature of the Main Street and was at the very heart of the community.

Jim was dedicated to his position as Sacristan, many of us have memories of him quietly going about his work, heading down to ring the bell for the Angelus, and of his quiet, unobtrusive presence at Masses and other liturgies.

Our sympathies go to his three sons, his grandchildren and to all of his family and friends. May he rest in peace, Amen

Sr. Consilio – Eileen Fitzgerald – was born in 1937 and raised in Clougvoula, Brosna, Co. Kerry. Sr. Consilio often reminisces of her wonderful parents and the values which she espouses today are, she will say, values which were nurtured in the family home and which were passed on to her, and the other family members. She is a Sister of Mercy.

Cuan Mhuire, Ireland’s largest multi-site provider of Residential Detoxification and Treatment for those suffering from addictions was founded in 1966 by Sr Consilio on the belief that each human being is of eternal value, it now provides treatment for 3000 persons annually.

In February 2011, Sr Consilio was awarded an honorary MBE by the Queen of England, in recognition of her services to people with addiction problems in Northern Ireland.

Reposing in Park House Nursing Home, Kilcock. Leaving there Tuesday May 15th to arrive in Clane Parish Church for 6pm.

Funeral Mass at 11am on Wednesday 16th May, and burial afterwards in Mainham Cemetery.

May he rest in peace, Amen
