Easter greetings to you all at this time of profound change and challenge.
While our Two Beautiful Churches in Clane and Rathcoffey are closed I continue to celebrate Mass in Clane each Day/Weekend and each Sunday in Rathcoffey Church where the Flame of Faith has burnt brightly since 1710! I appreciate greatly the generosity of our Parish Volunteers Charlie and Assumpta Flynn, our Choir leaders and small group of Readers who ensure that our Weekend Masses are celebrated so beautifully. I have received so many wonderful messages of support and kindness from people all over the World who join us in Prayer via our Parish Webcam in Clane Church, from Ireland, the UK, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and further afield. Our website providers have sent us figures showing us that between 6-7,000 viewers are joining us regularly for Prayer each Week so a warm welcome to all Parishioners old and new!
Our Visual images projected onto our Church in Clane each evening are a lovely feature as people walk by, our Easter Cross at the Abbey Garden, Holy Water Font and outdoor Candle Shrine in our Clane Church Courtyard are reminders that our Parish is still reaching out at this difficult time. Our Prayer garden and Labyrinth at the back of Clane church are places of reflection and peace for all.
The many funerals over the past Two Weeks in the Parish have been a deeply moving experience for me as we connect with grieving Families in a sensitive and supportive way celebrating their Requiem Masses so differently.
To all our Young First Communion and Confirmation Candidates we hope if at all possible to mark these special Days with you in a different way as soon as possible.
As our Parish stands with you now at this time when our Faith is tested let us take heart from the Words of the Lord
‘I am with you always, Yes to the end of time’ Matthew 28:20.
