Parish of Clane and Rathcoffey Reopening of our churches for public worship June/July 2020

Published on July 3, 2020

Welcome back! We are delighted that you have returned to attend Mass and pray in our two beautiful churches. We will be doing things in a different way now to ensure that all of us feel safe and welcome as we come here to pray.

  • Entrance to the church is by the main door only.
  • Our churches are cleaned daily and between Masses at the weekend.
  • There will be specific areas for families and individuals to sit.
  • We ask you to follow the guidance of our church stewards as you enter and exit the church.
  • People can fulfil their Sunday Obligation by also attending Mass on any week day.
  • People are welcome to receive Holy Communion when you come to Mass in the hand only
  • Due to social distancing requirements our church capacity will be reduced so we invite you to come early to Mass as once the capacity is reached no extra numbers will be permitted to enter the church for Mass. We plan to have a little extra capacity outside and in Clane Parish Hall where Mass will be streamed.
  • We appreciate your financial support to the parish as our parish income has been greatly reduced since mid-March 2020.
  • As a parish we are committed to ensuring that all our church committees are conducted in a safe, balanced and prayerful way.

It’s good to have you back!

May the good Lord protect us and bring us the peace and comfort that we need at this time.
