The death has occurred of Maurice Shortt, Dublin Road, Clane, Co. Kildare and Rtd. Inspector An Garda Siochana, January 28th 2026, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of the late Carmel and father-in-law of the late Noel. Deeply regretted by his loving children Bríd, Fachtna, Traolach, Oscar and Olwen, son-in-law Brian, daughters-in-law Stephanie, Dara and Sinead, 17 adored grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, brother Pat, sister Mary, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at his home on Friday from 4pm, with concluding prayers at 7.30pm. Removal on Saturday morning by Oliver Reilly Funeral Directors at 11am to arrive at The Church of St. Patrick & St. Brigid, Clane for 11.30am funeral mass, followed by burial in Mainham Cemetery, Clane.
