Loving God, as we light this candle,

May it be symbol of your light and love

in our home and in our lives today.

We ask a special blessing on all of us,

on our neighbours, on our friends,

on the lonely,
and on all who are away from home surround us

with your protection and light

Be a bright flame before us.

Be a guiding light above us.

Be a warm welcome ahead of us,

And as we journey on through the year ahead
may we share our light with those we meet on our way.
