Prayer for a Godchild

Life seems more complicated for children

And for adults these days.

Since becoming a godparent,

I’ve grown more aware of my duty of care

Towards my family and friends.

As I recall the baptismal promises

Which I have made for my godchild,

I am reminded of the freshness

And the beauty…
