The Children’s Choir sings at each 9:30 a.m. Family Mass. The children are part of the Family Mass Group. They practice on a Thursday Evening between 6:30pm and 7:30pm. All children between the ages of 6 and 13 years are welcome to join.
The Clane Church Choir has been in existence since the 1950’s when Sr. Berchmans was the organist. She was succeeded by Sr. Joseph, who remained in charge until the arrival of Mother Perpetua in 1964. This family mass group are involved in planning Masses and related liturgies in conjunction with the families and younger people in our parish. This includes the liturgy of the word, prayers of the faithful and music which enables a fuller participation, interest and attention in our services. The children and their families are encouraged to take part in the Mass through readings, Gospel dramas, processions and symbols.
Our group also organise community and family based projects to highlight the spirit of Jesus in our community – e.g. plan a back to school coffee morning at the start of each school year, collect of shoe boxes for the Operation Christmas Child shoe box appeal.
